Denoise and AA. This show uses dynamic grain for artistic effect, so I chose a denoiser that throws up its hands and quits at the first sign of heavy noise. Hence the large filesizes. I don't think you can use something like SMDegrain because (1) scenes that are intentionally noisy should stay noisy and (2) the static grain in this show probably messes with the motion estimation.
Speaking of the static grain, it looks terrible in certain moving shots. It's the same way in the source. That's life.
This release has a fairly caveman approach to anti-aliasing (do a pure downscale-rescale with insaneAA, `insaneAA.insaneAA(video, descale_height=900, descale_strength=0)`). I once joked about how the best way to anti-alias is to downscale, but I guess it's not a joke anymore.
