Start here with Java for Fucking Idiots.Written by a recovering idiot, this book will walk you through the very fundamentals of Java at a pace you can follow, and with a structure that makes sense. I make absolutely minimal assumptions about your background throughout the entire book.
I avoid using overly complex examples, provide simple code snippets and metaphors, and in general have no idea what the fuck I’m doing. But I wrote a book, so yeah what the hell, why not.
Join me on an adventure to learn Java, read some awful “jokes”, cite no sources, and you know what? Maybe along the way, we’ll learn something about ourselves, too.

I’m already a Java developer, but I’m looking to actually become certified. While I knew this book didn’t help there, I decided to buy it anyway because of the title and refreshing my memory on basic stuff isn’t a bad thing. It covers the basics great. I’ve never looked forward to reading a Java book until this one. If you don’t mind the vulgarity and enjoy laughing while learning, I highly recommend this book for Java beginners. If the author makes a more advanced book, I’d buy that one as well.
I am already familiar with the concepts in the book but needed a refresher. Ended up reading it just for the humor!
