SoftMaker Office è compatibile con tutti i principali formati di documenti, tra cui anche DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT e PPTX e ha dalla sua una notevole velocità di caricamento che abbiamo smesso di apprezzare usando il super accessoriato Microsoft Office. Il pacchetto include anche BasicMaker, un editor per chi lavora con i linguaggi di programmazione. Geniale la possibilità di accedere ai programmi della suite dalla system tray e dall'interfaccia di ognuna delle applicazioni.
Quello che manca a SoftMaker Office è un client e-mail come Outlook e un programma completo come Access per creare database. Tuttavia, per chi non ha necessità simili, SoftMaker Office è l'ideale: piuttosto leggero, puoi anche installarlo in una penna USB o su un Pocket PC e portarlo con te dove vuoi per lavorare su qualsiasi computer senza lasciare tracce e usando gli strumenti a cui sei abituato. E finalmente include la tanto attesa correzione ortografica in italiano non disponibile nelle precedenti versioni.
