DESCRIPTION
The Invisible Man (1933), restored and remastered, directed by James Whale, encoded in 10 bit HEVC with AAC sound, including original theatrical mono, commentary track, and subtitles in nine languages.
IMDb : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024184/
Video encoded in two-pass 7 500 kbps x265 10bit with the veryslow preset for archive quality image.
English and Spanish subtitles OCRed, proofed and corrected. All other subtitles converted to VobSub and repositioned.
Note : More classics, and the return of our old friend James Whale, who directed this in between Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, in an unprecedented run of hits. This is probably not as good a story as Bride is, but it's a unparalleled technical achievement for the time, with optical visual effects that shockingly hold up pretty well even today, along with impeccable lighting and photography, and very solid performances. Also look out for a tiny appearance by the brilliant Dwight Frye as a reporter.
Like all of these restored Universal classics, this is a very nice remaster, very clean, with healthy grain, and nice contrast. The commentary track is informative as usual.
