This ActiveX / OCX control displays, resizes, edits and joins images. It supports JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG, PCX, PSD, TIFF and WBMP files and can convert between them. Images can be exported to PDF. There is comprehensive support for scanning from Twain scanners and webcams. Multipage TIFF images are supported and images can be uploaded to a remote server using HTTP making csXImage a powerful client side control when used in a web application. A signed CAB file is available. Powerful image manipulation functions include resize and scale, for creating thumbnails, and adjusting JPEG compression quality. Add text labels, draw lines and shapes with optional colour fills or antialiasing. Crop, Rotate, Flip and FloodFill commands are available. Images can be joined by pasting one on top of another with optional full or partial transparency of the foreground image to create a watermark or for tiling. Alpha channels in PNG images are supported. Adjust brightness, contrast, sharpness, hue, saturation (HLS) and colour depth. Adjustments can be made to the whole image or just a selected area. Read and edit IPTC, EXIF and XMP meta data in JPG and TIFF image. Includes events for the mouse and methods for printing and a zoom function. The free trial includes sample VB and VB.NET applications but other demos and sample code is available for download. As an ActiveX control, csXImage can be used in a variety of COM enabled development environments including VB6, VB.NET, C#, Delphi, MS Access, Visual FoxPro and MS Internet Explorer.
