I was lookin" around on here and honestly could"nt believe this has not already been uploaded. Yeah I know, it"s an old school/obsolete program and there have not been any updates available for it (from what I have read) since 04/25/2006, but in my opinion it"s still a very useful and stable DVD backup tool. Not so much for removing the CSS encyptions, bad sectors, etc. anymore (which is what makes it possible to clone/copy a copyrighted DVD in the first place), especially with new releases, new releases = new CSS encryptions. However, when it comes to re-encoding, this is all I use....why? Because, in my opinion, when compressing with all quality enhancements enabled, DVDShrink still provides the best quality picture, even at high compression rates. I"ve seen the resulting video after a DVD has been compressed/re-encoded with many different programs, and don"t get me wrong they look good, just not as good as after being re-encoded, with all quality enhancements enabled mind you, with DVDShrink. There is one drawback however, when compressing with all quality enhancements enabled and also depending on the amount of compression, it could take up to 45mins. to complete a backup, where as a newer program can do it within 20mins., sometimes less. But, in my opinion, the extra time it takes DVDShrink is worth it, with the resulting picture it produces. Anyways, to make a long ass story short, I just thought some of ya peeps might like to have this and maybe even try it out with your next re-encode, once again with all quality enhancements enabled.
BTW, I know this may seem as a pointless upload to some because, if you did"nt know yet? this is in fact, freeware. However, I found when I was looking to download this awhile back, I was coming across alot of broken links and sometimes after pressing "download" I would be re-routed to some other site for something completely different. And because of this when I finally found a site with a legitmate DL, I saved the exe. to my computer, which is the only reason I am able to share it with you now. Enjoy!
