Thanks for joining us here at Naked News, I'm Laura Desiree! They say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but they sure don't say that about scandal! People in Virginia are feeling VERY thunderstruck these days, and for good reason. Here's Alana to explain in a Naked News Bulletin.
Laura, something's rotten in the state of Virginia! All THREE of its top elected officials find themselves mired in scandal! First, Governor Ralph Northam caught fire when a racist photo in his med school yearbook involving blackface was uncovered! Then Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax was publicly accused of committing sexual assault in 2004. And the latest is Attorney General Mark Herring's admission that HE went to a party in blackface as a teen! Maybe there's something in the water?
It may not feel like it in February, but we're smack-dab in the middle of Earth's hottest decade on record! If the Met Office forecast holds, 2014 to 2023 will feature the highest global average temperature since at least the 1850s! That's largely because the next several years will see a global mean temperature roughly TWO to THREE degrees above pre-industrial levels! Long story short: the time to tackle climate change is NOW!
Here's something else warming the planet: parked BMWs spontaneously bursting into flames! The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reportedly received OVER NINETY complaints about the issue. But the real headline is, despite all that, the government watchdog apparently DOESN'T have an active investigation open. As for BMW, it's insisting that these fires can result from reasons, quote, “unrelated to product defects.” I don't really know what BMW is trying to say there Laura, but it sure doesn't sound reassuring!
Bottom line Alana, if you're going to have sex in a parked car, DON'T make it a Beamer! Words to live by, see ya later! Alana will be back in a few, but before we move on to Entertainment with Tia, let's check in with Shannon Blake for an early look at her weekend forecast. Whaddaya got for us, Shannon?
Well, fifty-nine years ago this weekend, official groundbreaking began on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! It's now one of the city's must-see locations for the millions of tourists who visit every year. I'll be taking a look at some fun facts about it, coming up in my Naked Weather report. Back to you, Laura!
LOVE the that Walk of Fame! Even filmed a Naked in The Streets on it while I was in LA a couple of weeks back. Watch for it! Okay, moving on, once again, despite their collective age, the Rolling Stones are gathering no moss! The iconic band has a tour this year... and maybe a new album too? With more on that, here’s Tia with Entertainment.
