Famed singer Janice Quatlane requests Layton's help after a strange meeting with a little girl. The girl claims to posses eternal life and to be the reincarnation of Janice's friend Melina. Layton and Luke attend Janice's new opera. At the end of the performance, the guests are startled to find that the entire opera house has been converted into a ship and a mystery man now holds them all captive. The man forces them to solve a series of riddles. The winner will receive the secret to eternal life, but it could mean death for the losers....
